Legal and Ethical issues

http://appleinsider.com/articles/13/04/01/judge-denies-right-to-resell-itunes-songs-digital-media-still-protected-under-copyright-laws.

The article "Judge denies right to resell iTunes songs, digital media still protected under copyright laws" was about the copyright of reselling of iTunes songs with the redigi which is  way to buy digital used music.  People are able to sell there songs to other people that want to buy the songs it was ruled against because of the unauthorized transfer of the digital music which is illegal under what is the copyright act.  I think that it is bad to steal songs for the internet but with it being online people are going to go to those sites and find the music they want and download it.  If laws are saying that it can not be done and that some people go to jail for it why is it so easy to find what we want online for free when it is copyrighted.  I think that it should not be available on the internet if it is something that is illegal to do and there should be warning and ways to know about it because someone is downloading without the knowledge of what they are doing.

  1. I agree, some people do download things that they want and they also don't know that they are stealing from the original copy.

  3. With iTunes, people are purchasing only the rights to a digital content, they do not own it, as in cd albums, so they have no right to transfer the digital content without consent from legal owner.

  4. In my opinion there is no way to enforce people stealing songs on the internet. These is just to many people doing it. Only a very small fraction of people get caught.

  5. I agree with the above post. They wont bother with small cases. They can catch anyone realy, but it takes effort and they wont bother with your regular "Joe". However, they will go after the big time downloaders; the ones who download and sell to make a living.
